    I have the same pattern. Have not started it yet. Need to select fabric. Love your fabric. Would you share the name of the batik fabric you used?

    Any color (other than black or white) that you use as a final border will be the color that your quilt will "read". So if you don't plan on using a multi-colored border, decide on a color you want to emphasize. I think that the blue-violet you've chosen is nice!

    When I need to make a quilt wider or longer I tend to add a sashing 1st then another pieced sashing with squares using the scraps leftover, then another narrow sashing, then the border. Here's one making it wider for a child's quilt.
