Maybe have her do the research for you, on what "modern" means to her :D My idea of modern and others ideas do not always match :wink:

I think this could also mean that they do not like the "scrappy" look. Before I started quilting I used to use that term for non-scrappy quilt. Three or four maybe five fabrics but never more than that. I think if you show them the difference in a magazine you'll find that they just don't like scrappy. I don't like scrappy either. The room (if it's on a bed) always looks cluttered to me with a scrappy quilt on it. I prefer less fabrics - coordinated and with an overall design more than a "block" design. I also don't like BOM quilts for the same reason - too much going on.

I am about to begin a Frank Lloyd Wright wallhanging for my DDIL.I have a book called Quilts in the Tradition of Frank Lloyd Wright by Jackie Robinson. I found it on Amazon.com.
