I am in the same mode you are! I have on ufo sitting on the table and its half finished. i also have a couple of baby quilts to make....but, I am procastinating right now.

After my little dis-interest I get in the mood deep and start back quilting.

I think your mood now is perfectly natural and o.k!

Do one thing on it today, whether it is reading instructions, cutting fabric, etc. Getting started is the hardest part..... You can do it!

Not so long ago, I couldn't bring myself to even cut the fabric. I had decided on pattern #1 of 3 that I was debating on. My husband talked me into pattern #2 and gave me a peptalk; that and a looming deadline, and I got started. Crazily, almost all the way through, I realised I was making pattern#1 all along! Plus, this was my first try at freehand sewing. I bought a backing with a preprinted freehand pattern that washes out. Like training wheels for this newbie.

It turned out so nice, I'm making another for myself! Up until now, all my work has either been gifts or donations.

So get started. Remember, when you're at the pool, the water only feels too cold until you jump in! Good luck!! Cindy

So if today is a leave it alone day, get all those non quilting things done and out of the way so tomorrow you can do your quilt without those other things that needed to be done hanging over your shoulder.
I'm like this too. Some days all I want to do is work on a quilt, other days I want to piddle around with different sewing projects, patterns or prototypes and some days (but NOT often! LOL) I don't even want to think about touching my machine!

Set your timer! Give yourself 30 minutes, an hour, whatever. It doesn't matter - but setting the timer helps you focus. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you do that.
