    Really, there is enough black on the front. How cool would the turndown (at least that) be with some great color!
    GMTA ... I too had thought of Kaffe Fassett's. When I was Shop Hopping last week, I saw the largest collection in Ontario and started to get interested in this fabric.

    Perfect pick there MTS.

    And bonus .... the quilt could nicely be a reversable at times!

    yes there are some very nice black batts on the market- just remember to choose the batting that allows you to quilt it the way you want- some batts require dense quilting -some allow up to 10" between lines.

    I would go with a bright, colorful, splashy print! lots of reds and oranges and blues (and purples!!!!)

    I think that B&W dot in the quilt would be great or something similar to it. Polka dots always work!

    Very nice top. What is DD favorite color? Slipping some of that into the back would be cool too!
