I make the squares for the half square triangles 1" larger too, instead of 7/8"

I always do half square triangles bigger than I need and trim them down. Even if I start out with the right size squares I don't always end up with the right size half squares.

...and when you square up, make sure your diagonal center line on the HST stays diagonal and in the center or you will lose your points. have fun!

And this is precisly why I always do just one block on each pattern before I cut out all the fabric. It was a lesson learned the hard way!!!!
