How Big?

I really like the first pattern but it's awfully small. You could do it as a wall hanging for the babies room but I'd extend the length of the strips of border and perhaps make the inner border a little wider. Or, add another row each way of the blocks then keep the borders the same width or do a combination of all three. It would be much better if it was at least 40x48 or so.

I've made the crazy eights pattern. I use it as a small lap quilt. Kids are funny because they seem to like the smaller quilts better. My grandson is 3 and he has a really small "pirate quilt" that he has to have when he's sick. He takes it on car trips, too. He has another one with sock monkies on it that he takes to nursery school. His mom bought him a bigger quilt for his bedspread. He prefers his smaller quilts that granny made. Have fun, the kids will love your quilts.

I make mine at least 40+ square. want it large enought to cover baby and parent. Some times Mom's use my blankets when they are breast feeding in public! Also want it large enough for toddler to drag around when older.

I like mine to be about 40 x 50. That way I can use 2 yards of fabric for the back with no piecing. It also makes it big enough they can use it for a long time. It is also big enough for what my grandmother called "car quilts". She kept them in the car for us to cover with.
