My posts don't always generate pages of responses - I think its as others said, time of day, where posted, topic headline (I pass on the vague subject titles - can't read all of them, & want to know what I'm opening is going to be of interest to me). Plus, I'll often see that many more people looked at something I posted than will ever write a note.
If someone else has written what I was going to say, I may skip posting, so as not to be repetitive.

Ahem.....Jan, note to self, I did open your post, even though the title is vague, so I guess I do sometimes break my own unwritten rule. :+)
