    can't help with the quilting, i do hand quilting. do yu have access to an emb machine? you could do snowflakes that way over his body. your quilt is so peaceful looking.

    After reading this thread again, I've changed my opinion (my 2cents). To keep it soft for a lap quilt, use minimal quilting. Outline the deer and snowflakes at about 1/2" spacing. Then reevaluate if it needs more.
