I have a business card binder with small squares of fabric in each pocket and a slip of paper with the store name and how much I have so it keeps track of my stash amounts. I remove them when the fabric is used up.

Might try the brag book next time around.
I do the same thing when ever I want to buy embroidery thread. I have a note book with samples of all the colors I have and that way I know what I need. The notebook is handy for many things.
