Baby quilts are usually 42x60; lap/throw quilts 60x72; bed quilts are 92x108 or 112 square. Most of what I have made are 92x108 for church raffle quilts. I usually know what measurement I'm headed for.

I have an idea... but couldn't tell you specifically. Recently I made one that I just kept piecing and then folding it up each night as I was done... the blocks were 16"... larger than I usually make. I took it over to a friends house for show... and it was over 11' feet on each side and I hadn't put the borders on. I ended up seam-ripping in into two quilts.

hi, newbie here!
I try really hard to have a goal size in mind with my quilts...only because I didn't plan out my first quilt I made in high school. It is about wide enough for a twin bed, but about a mile too long. :) Then again, I've only made 4 quilts, so not a lot of experience yet.
