You can sew down the edges of the center flat, or if you like it to have the 'diamond' look, pick up that side of the center block and fold in (like a cathedral window block) and sew it down by hand. If you look at the "Gallery of Quilts" section of this site, you'll see there is a whole section of 10 minute block quilts. Look at the ones where folks have folded back each side of the center block and sewn it down....it gives the 'round' look to the blocks when you see the whole quilt shown. Have fun with it -- like every other method you make it your own by your fabric choices, etc...

This is how I sew mine down.

I don't know if there are other sites like this site, but this is wonderful. Thank you all. This is what I wanted to make, and to be able to machine stitch the diamond so it looks like a cathedral is perfect for me as I'm not so great with hand stitching, So thanks soooo much!!

This is on my wanna-do list, too but I think I'll do smaller blocks. Has anyone done them smaller?

I made one with charm squares, and I don't think I'd go smaller than that. I struggled a bit, trying to get some of the seams to lay flat so I could stitch the other seams. It turned out great, though.
