You don't want to talk to me! I am the worst enabler ever. I tell myself fabric is pricing itself out of many peoples reach so I need to stock up while I can. lol

It IS an addiction !!

I recommend taking stock of your stash regularly ... I reorganized my sewing room and closet last fall, that did the trick for me !
Don't know how long it will last but so far, so good ... seeing all the fabric I DO HAVE and the projects I STILL want to make was a sobering thing ... I've rationalized "stocking up" for retirement, but I'll have to quilt into the AFTERLIFE to finish !!

This is a strange thread. So many are saying, "I'm a fabric-shop-aholic and I don't care." LOL Others are saying "I care, but I'm weak." and some aren't confessing anything. Really interesting thread.Very interesting that it was started as a joke and it hit home with so many.

You are not alone - when you get it figured out your can sell the secret to success here on the Quilt Board. That will probably give you some income so you can buy some fabric

My very empty wallet keeps me from buying more fabric. But luckily, I have generous family at the holidays who got me gift cards for my favorite fabric places for christmas, and my birthday is only 4 months away. I should be able to hold out until then.

I only buy fabric to finish a project if I have to and for special orders - then some one else is paying for it. I have more then enough. In fact when people who live near me bring me quilts to quilt for them I always try to have at least one bag of scraps to go out the door with them.

I may not like all the fabric in my stash (some of it was what was I thinking when I bought it), but I'm forced to use it since being on a fixed income and my hubby losing his job 9 months ago. I mostly make scrappy quilts so I should be good to go for a while.
