These are all great ideas I am going to try to incorporate! I am growing a great collection and dealing with it is a monster!

I use the redwell folders you purchase from an office supply store. They come in two sizes -- one for 8 1/2 x 11" paper and one for 8 1/2 x 14" paper. The smaller one is perfect for storing patterns and magazines. And since they are expandable, I can put all the fabric, templates, and pattern in the folder. And they sit nicely on the shelf, waiting. For miscellaneous templates (tri-rec, for example), I put the templates and any instructions in a document sleeve and put them in a separate notebook.

I have a four drawer filing cabinet. One drawer for my important paperwork so lots of room left for patterns or whatever I put in there. Works great
