My binding goes over my shoulder onto the floor behind me. I like your idea lots better. Just curious, on your Memory Craft 6600, what is the red triangle over the "knot" button?

That's a good idea. I roll mine on a toilet paper cardboard and put it on a peg board that's behind me but facing to the right. It comes off over my shoulder and right under the presser foot.

When I first got my machine and was doing fmq, I found I did much better if I used the start and stop button instead of the foot pedal. Since I wasn't used to the machine, and my eyesite isn't what it used to be I kept hitting the wrong button to stop sewing. In retrospect, I don't know why I didn't put it(the red triangle) on the start/stop button! :idea: ;-) I don't even notice it anymore, I guess I could take it off! :thumbup:

Are you kidding. I just improvised and made my cone holder and thread feed out of a wire hanger. It works perfectly and has for years and it didn't cost me a thing. I also don't bother winding my binding on anything because it always seems to end up in a wad in the middle of the quilt as I sew it on. So now, I just wad it up in the middle of the quilt as I sew it on and eliminate the step of winding it on something. This works for me and keeps it off the floor.
