I actually enjoy all parts of quilting. Basting probably the least but I know that once that's done I can start the next fun step of FMQ. The most tedius part for me is hand sewing the binding on....and yet I love to hand quilt which should be as tedius but which I find very enjoyable and relaxing...strange, huh?

I love how you said that "No one puts a needle to my quilts but me." Amen!

I have made, probably, 12 baby quilts.. gave all of them away. I think I have made 12 full or queen quilts. I have one of each waiting to be machine quilted. I have been quilting two years. I don't have any that I would enter in a judging event, yet some of them I would not trade for any amount of awards.

i hand quilt my own. It's the most therapeutic part of the process! Since it takes longer, it keeps more money in my pocket because i don't start another project til the current one is done.

Hi
I love the whole process and nearly always quilt my own, MQ or HQ. However I have had 3 quilts professionally quilted as they were King size and I could not handle it myself as I don't have a Long-arm

Happy Quilting

I started quilting 12 years ago and have quilted all my quilts, I sell one once in a while. I just set up my sewing machine for quilting and do it a little at a time. Some times I work on somthing else for a break. Most of my quilts are king size. Here is wip

So when I say "I" quilt them, it's really the computer, but I still have to line up the pattern etc.

One of these days I will get the courage to try and free hand something. But I need to get some muslin and practice, practice, practice! :)

I like seeing the process from beginning to end. Just the way I am though. :)
Me, too. Use Qbot with Handiquilter 16. No talent for free motion - I cannot even draw to practice. I do all of my own quilts and it is my favorite part thanks to Qbot.
