I love the quilting so I do all my own quilting, mostly by hand but some are machine quilted STD.

To send quilts to get quilted here is so expensive and the quilting part would end up being double or more the cost of what the quilt would be worth.

I do my own, first with SID and then FMQ. I simply cannot afford to pay someone else, esp at the costs I hear it costs. Not worth it to me. This is the reason I just bought my Brother 1500, to have more room to quilt. Pauline

Ok - I see the pegboard. I see the pistol. Is that your tool for those who intrude on your quilting time or to kill your frustration when things don't go right?? :?:

I always do my own. Just got a brother PQ1500 with a larger throat and they are much easier

I quilt my own, either straight stitching or FMQ on my dinky Walmart variety mechanical Brother. It is not fussy and uses any kind of thread. I did recently quilt one on my vintage Singer.

Another hand quilter here so I do my own. The only machine quilting I do is for charity quilts when they require it (QFK). I've seen some beautifully machine quilted pieces but it's just not for me.
