I've quilted all of mine renting time on the LQS, but am planning to get a LA now that I have room. I like to make the whole quilt mine by doing it from start to finish.

I quilt my own and I expect I always will. They wouldn't be mine otherwise, at least that is how I feel. Mine will never win awards, not quite as pretty as the longarmers do, but their mine. When I give them away, they are loved and admired and so appreciated. A friend keeps insisting I need a LA,no desire here for one. I think it really is a personal thing.

I figure if I do my own quilting, then I have saved all that money for buying more fabric.

I hand baste all my quilts using the Sharon Schamber method.I love this method since I can sit at my dinning room table. I put the leaf in my dinning room table for basting large quilts. I do all of the quilting myself using vintage Singer in treadles.

Here in the UK it is normal for us quilters do the all of our quilts ourselves, there is not many LA quilters about and the added expense would make my hobby tooooo much
