when you take your machine in for the yearly tune up? I admit I have never taken mine in. My Grandmother sewed for a living and always worked on her own machine and I guess I just picked that up from her. However while I can clean this machine really good there is a lot of electronics now that she never dealt with so I'm thinking that I may need to take it in sometime soon.

We just recently talked about this. Lots of variety in the answers. http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/22174.page

I am so lucky. There is a guy near here that cleans and tunes mine for $10 !! But he let me watch and showed me most all to do,so now I do it at home. The hard part is remembering where all the screws go and all. If you keep your machine clean and maintained you don't need a lot done unless a part breaks or something.

'bout $35. he's done it for years. I have a Bernina 830 I bought in 1975 and not a thing wrong with it.
