when you take your machine in for the yearly tune up? I admit I have never taken mine in. My Grandmother sewed for a living and always worked on her own machine and I guess I just picked that up from her. However while I can clean this machine really good there is a lot of electronics now that she never dealt with so I'm thinking that I may need to take it in sometime soon.

Usually between $75-$100. I have needed parts, so maybe a little less if just cleaning.

Good question. I've worked on my own machines but now have one with electronics.

I am so lucky. There is a guy near here that cleans and tunes mine for $10 !! But he let me watch and showed me most all to do,so now I do it at home. The hard part is remembering where all the screws go and all. If you keep your machine clean and maintained you don't need a lot done unless a part breaks or something.

I paid 129 for my bernina, but found out this guy was way too high. I think around !00 is reasonable.

I have a mennoite place where I go to and he only charges $35 to $40 dollars . He guarantees it will work . I have brought my machines back to him if their is something wrong and he makes them purrrr!!!!

'bout $35. he's done it for years. I have a Bernina 830 I bought in 1975 and not a thing wrong with it.
1) regular cleaning and oiling is the key.

I took mine to the ONLY Janome dealer in the area -- $130.00. Next time, I take it to my mother's town...it'll be cheaper.
