the first quilt i paid to have quilted was a king, it cost me $385...and i provided the top, back and batting! it was charged by the square inch. if they are providing the backing and batting i say that price is fantastic! i charge less than that to do the quilting but if i had to provide the batting and backing i would probably have to charge a bit more than that.

Thanks
Thanks
My quilter provided batting and backing and machine stitched binding to top of quilt.
She charged me $176

If you were in my area that would be the deal of the century...... There is only one here that I know of and if you provide backing, batting and thread the actual quilting starts at around $60 for a crib quilt.

I met a long arm quilter at my weight watchers group, she said she'd give me a good price. $.02 per sq inch. I'm providing the thread, 19.95 = s&h, and batting ( 2 qn size $49.90 =s&h; it'll be 278.20 for a 107x130 quilt. I'm counting myself lucky as prices range from $.04 per sq. in to $.06 in the Denver area, PLUS, she'll finish it in October! It's worth it to me this time, this'll be my first professionally quilted quilt. I don't care to machine quilt , I'll hand quilt or tie
