Hi Becky, I am the worst for "fixing" something. However, I would leave this as it is. After all they are well coordinated and very close in value. No one will ever notice if you don't tell them. And that is Quilters Rule #1----Don't point out any mistakes.

Actually I did not see anything wrong with it until I reread your message and looked at the pictures closer.

Don't tell your 6 year old that there is a block in the wrong place and he won't tell everyone else...:-) Ellen

You are the creator of this quilt. If it bothers you, I'd fix it or it will bother you forever. You'll feel better after it's fixed. Better now than after it's completed. At that point there is nothing you can do. Beautiful colors. Thanks for sharing.

I don't personally see what's wrong with it. I think it's very nice. But, like others have said - if it's going to bother you, rip it and fix it.

You sound a lot like me. Your son won't mind and I'd bet no one else will notice it but it will bother you every time you look at it.

As advise I would say leave it, but as a fellow "bugee" I say fix it.

He's 6 yrs old and probably loves everything you do. Chances are, he won't even notice the colors and if he does, he'll no doubt think it's suppose to be that way. There are many more quilts in his future from Grandma - I'd leave it as is, mentioning it will only draw attention to it.
Consider the possibility that with all that red, it might all bleed together in the wash and all the red squaes could end up the same color - wouldn't that be great.LOL

On someone else's quilt that I was giving away and won't see too often, it wouldn't bother me and I'd probably leave it. If it bothered me that much and I was going to see it daily, I'd take it out. That's me though.

Can the untrained eye really notice a difference when viewing the whole quilt?

It would drive me crazy .. I had completed a QS quilt, had it professionaly quilted, completed the binding. Then about a month later I noticed a small error. I unpicked it, fixed it then took it back to the quilter. I'm happy now
