That has happened to me a few times too. I usually take the time to get on the computer, check this site, then get so excited I can't WAIT to run in and start sewing :)

Breaks are awesome and required at times. I do not agree with Maride. Retail therapy is great for a jumpstart - but only a start. You might not get anything finished today (Finished? are you kidding me?!) but you may be able to envision the thing that rises to the top of your list and then you'll be up and running - the machine - again.

Finished can have many meanings. You can finish cutting, you can finish making a block, finish the top, or the sandwich. Every step has it's own "finish". See? You can Finish something today.

When I get like that I either take a nap or tidy up my sewing area (and basement). Then when I'm rested and feeling like sewing, the area is allllll cleared up and ready to go!

Maybe it's the body/mind telling you that you need a rest.

E.T.A. retail therapy works but it can be horribly addicting and bad on the checkbook.

I love your definition of "FINISHED" Love it!
