I use blue Dawn all the time. I always smile at thinking, if it's good for baby ducks, what can it do to fabric?

I think you should be fine especially if you prewashed your batiks before using them in your quilt. Good luck to you. You made a beautiful quilt and your DIL is a lucky lady to receive such a gorgeous gift.

That is truly gorgeous. What is the pattern name?

Lots of colour catchers should do it if you pre-washed.

That is a gorgeous quilt. I love the way it looks like waves. What pattern did you use?

On the bleeding...I agree that it should be ok and if you are worried about it use color catchers.
