Yep, I got the "I thought you were making us a Real quilt" when I made a queen size one and donated it to my ECA Club to raise money for their treasury because it was machine quilted. It raised over $800 for them. Not bad for a "not real" quilt. They won't get another one.

Susan, do not worry about it. Any manner you use to finish a quilt is just fine. If anyone complains.....just send them to me. I have a Rottweiler who will explain it.

Mind your own (expletive deleted) business. I didn't ask your opinion nor do I want it. I see no reason to be polite to these people. They are the same idiots who tried to cram their ways down your throat in home ec.

I heard this one just the other day, when i told someone, I buy some of my fabrics from Joann's and Hobby Lobby..."Don't you know their fabric is not as good as the fabric you buy from a high end quilt shop?"

I was thinking, yeah lady, I have been quilting for over 20 years, and I have been hearing that very thing for about that long! I am not stupid! I quilt for my enjoyment, and I spend what I think is a fair price for fabric.

All these comments remind me of why I don't care to belong to a guild anymore. I'm happy doing my own thing and answering to no one. Also reminds me of why I enjoy all you wonderful, supportive folks at the QB.

You didn't actually "make" the quilt unless you did every step from start to finish.

Another one that I love is, "Never use sheets for backing fabric."

Does that include buying a farm and growing the cotton yourself?
