I always wanted to buy 2 of them, the side legs with the treadle and put a pretty top on it for a writing desk or bedside table...but then I also thought to buy just the old sewing machines and make book ends of them!!!

Wow, if I was in your shoes, I would do it in a heartbeat. How sewing room classic can you get than that.

My sister has one, she had a marble top put on it and it is in her den. I love it, it is unique and very attractive.

One lady I know took a set of the legs with wheel and made a table out of it. . I admire the idea of make something useful from something that will bring back loveing memories.

These seem to be all the rage over here in the UK, just look on Ebay UK and see the difference in price, amazing,

One set actually is only the sides legs, without the foot pedal or wheel. Would it be weird to buy these and make a desk of it?
i have seen several of these made into tables. they are really cute. i love the idea of a sewing cabinet on top. go for it.

I'm typing on one right now. Mine does have the three drawers on each side, holding office supplies. Has a nice homemade wooden desk top. Hubby had to weld the peddle - I had the habit of sitting here and pedaling, smashed my toe.
