The only hst I don't trim are from Triangulations software and there are sites that have some free paper piecing that you can copy for the more popular sizes. Recently I made 4,000+ hst from all the ways I knew - I just wanted them scrappy. There is also a program called - lingo something-darn, thought I knew it - it prints directly on the fabric. I love Bonnie Hunters Ocean Waves on Quiltville - gorgeous.

Wow, that pretty much covers it. I've made that zigzag rainbow quilt - except I used a pattern that used just fat quarters. Even the binding came from the FQs. I loved the result but it was a fussy thing to do. The green and rose quilt started as pinwheels but I was tired of doing them so made this layout instead.

I made a quilt called Galaxy of stars and scraps by Katharine Guerrier in her book Scrap Quilt Sensation. I checked the book out of my library. Instead of stars in the large open area, I did a machine embroidery design.

Inklingo. http://lindafranz.com/ I have seriously lusted after quite a few of those patterns, but DH just HAD to have a laserjet printer, and he cannibalized the inkjet printer so it no longer works. Sigh.

rufree4t, have you made HSTs using the quilterscache method? Did they have to be trimmed?
