My dh once used my 6 x 24 ruler and rotary cutter to cut wallpaper but I soon set him straight.

No wondering whose it is. :)
I probably would have painted mine hot pink then snapped a photo of him if I caught him using my hot pink "girlie" tools.

No one in my house uses my quilting tools, they would never hear the end of it. My DH doesn't come in my sewing room, unless I'm in there & then he only goes as far as the doorway.

Just a couple days ago I showed my DH how to use my rotary cutter, big ruler and cutting mat to cut suspended ceiling tiles - he has a whole garage full of tools, but my stuff worked perfect for what he was doing. I got a kick out of seeing him use them, and he got to see how I work. No problems, just need a new blade.

I finally bought my own tool kit to keep in my sewing room. I could never find a tool when I needed one. That way I always know where they are or like when DH was putting up my pegboard squares, I didn't have to play gopher up and down the stairs. LOL

My husband knows not to touch my quilting stuff! He tried to use my scissors once for cutting paper, and got in big trouble :)

My hubby wouldn't know what to do with my quilting stuff!

However, he burned up my power screwdriver that was a perfect fit for my small hand and replaced it with ... A DRILL with screw driver bits. Yes, it's a small one but it doesn't fit my hand! It takes too much 'muscle' to screw together furniture with it. My shoulder was sore for a week!

Gues what? They don't make my screwdriver any more! :(

Just easier to keep them safely tucked away.
That grease or never to be seen again scenario is so familiar to me. At one time I had my own mini tool kit and well stuff disappeared or ended up greasy and grimy yuck.

MY DH is a master fishing fly tier and he loves to use quilting tools. Now he has his own small cutting mat and rotary cutter to use at his disposal--he used to run off with mine!! I put my foot down when he started to take the out of the house to fly tying demonstrations. No more!

AND, I have my own toolbox. I always know where it is and what is in it--DH doesn't DARE touch it!
