I have the 830 and dont know about the 835.
Bought mine new seveal yrs ago when they first came out and it cost me over 1100 dollars. It has some nice features.
Is your current machine simple or does it have alot of extras?
I recomment having a simple non computerized backup machine for piecing and a fancy computer one with an extended throat for quilting.

I was in need of a walking foot for my Viking Designer I. Hating to spend the $100 for one, I googled the company and was able to get one to fit my machine for 1/3 of that. Just want to be sure that you give them the correct information needed. Doubt that the dealer was too pleased, but it was my pocketbook. Just look what I had left to buy more fabric. LOL Marge L.
