Nothing is perfect and an imperfection in a quilt shows it was made by a special person with love!

I was told at a quilt show this weekend that no quilt should be made perfect as the imperfection is our signature. I didn't know what too say too the lady cause I thought they should be perfect!

My husband's grandmother told me that every quilt contains a mistake or a "humble" block.

The last mistake like this that I made was when I was making a Snail's Trail. I put one row in upside down. Ruined the whole flow of the pattern, but I was too disgusted to unsew it all! Now it just has a special personality. :-)

I do the same thing and it really works. Mistakes are easier to spot and I also see colors that should be moved around.
ditto

LOL love this!

It's a lovely quilt! X marks the spot is what I would call it and I like the placement. It looks intentional.

Sorry this happened--maybe you can explain it away as doing as the Amish do-make a deliberate mistake. I bet the reciptant will love in any way.

So far that hasn't happened to me, I am always in fear of it though.
