My grandmother came from Amish ancestors so I always use that for my excuse.
I already figured out how I'll half way hide it when I hang it to display at the church hall. I'm going to fold the right hand side slightly to highlight the beautiful quilting. (is that cheating?)

All of us have done something exactly like what you describe. Sometimes we catch it in time, sometimes we don't. When the quilt is on the bed, the two sides won't show at the same time. If it's in a show, it will give the few quilters who notice it a chance to nod their heads in understanding.
In the future, take digital pictures of the quilt before quilting and review them on the computer. You will usually notice something wrong in the picture before you notice it in the real thing.

Good idea to take a snapshot. As large as it is, I really can't see all four sides when it's on the bed. thanks

If the LA'er didn't say anything about it, I'm betting that it's because she didn't notice it, which means that no-one else (besides you) will notice it. If they do, tell them that it was a design decision to use the wrong side of the fabric. Many of us here on the board use the wrong side on purpose because the color value of the wrong side works better in the design than the front.
