I like the idea of those binding cutters, but will it only cut bias...I don't use bias binding on quilts and I don't do appliqués vines on a regular enough basis, the few occasions I do need bias cuts i will just cut what I need the olde fashion way! But, if it does cut straight binding...I'm on my way to buy one!

IT (she) doesn't do the "cutting" You have a tip the size you need and you double that width with the fabric you've already "ripped"....I find that easier...what 'she' does is then send that fabric strip through the tip onto an iron, folding it up on the way out the other end. Walla! Bias tape! None of that folding edges and ironing and burning your fingers every time. And possibly not ironing it straight and getting wonky edges.Don't know how I would know this. lol

If you join the binding strips, be sure to press the seams all in the same direction and have the seams facing to the right when going through the tip. I found this has the strip feeding through much smoother at the seams. The tip tools are not that expensive. I use the largest size all the time, rarely use the small ones. I cut bias strips this way:

and the machine folds it perfectly.

I have seen videos like this one. Have you ever tried the "continuous" length method. With "no seams" assuming you have made enough? Which do you prefer?
