to put the sewing machine needle through your finger, plus one stitch? Once I put the needle in the up position (after a jerk motion and needle goes down further) I had to cut the thread and take out the thread. Talk about stupid, and hurt.

OUCH! be sure you did not get a piece of the needle left in there. Friend at the shop did and had to have surgery to get it out.

    Me, me, me!!!

And then, after the initial shriek and profane utterances, you sit and stare at it wondering how that could have happened.

Not one of my finest moments.

Good Lord you make me hurt just reading your post. Like finger nail on a chalk board.

Been There! Done That! Then you have to pull the needle out. I was lucky in that I had just put in a new needle, so I didn't have to worry about infection. I did it with the Megaquilter, so the needle went all of the way through my finger.

Owie! Makes me cringe just thinking about it. I've done it before too.

I think almost everyone that has sewn/quilted for any length of time has either did this or come soooooo close you wet your britches.

Keep it clean and do check on the status of your shots, clean needle or not.
