My gosh, if my husband asked me to teach him to sew I think I'd fall over from shock. I hope he enjoys spending time with you doing something you love. And what's better than buying a new machine! Just think, now you'll be hitting the fabric shops with a whole new prospective. I envy you. Would love for my DH to become more interested in my love of quilting.

That's great that he wants to learn to sew.

In college during the technical theater class that my boyfriend attended with me, I was finally given the position of Master carpenter, He usually was appointed to THAT position. So I assign him to sew the back drops on a very old sewing machine for the set that we were going to build. I told him to think of it as a power tool. It is very important that you sew VERY straight seams on the long lengths of muslin since puckers will be noticeable due to the theatre lighting. He ended up doing an excellent and accurate job!!
