Honestly I am not sure but I know there must be 50 double and larger tops to be quilted. I do a lot of doll quilts for the quilt guild I belong to and make tops for Quilts of Valor, and various other tops. My stuff always seems to get made in tops and then they are put up. I have a mid arm and hope to get it figured out. I don't know how to load it so I just keep making tops. I get all my table toppers, wall hangings, and small things quilted but the big stuff in just stored away until I figure it out. I wish I knew how to load the quilt but as yet have not figured it out. This is my goal this year.

Three years ago our guild had a UFO challenge, at that time I counted and had 117. I finished a few, started a few. This year we have another challenge and I have 95. However, since 3 years ago I have put them in containers #ed 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. and typed out a master sheet with what is in them so I don't spend a lot of time looking for the one I want to do. I consider anything cut out in 2011 or before a UFO. Part of my problem was I was traveling back and forth taking care of my mom who only had a small round table so I made tops but didn't get the quilting done. When home I was catching up with other things. I have also been BOM chairman (3 years) for one guild and charity quilt chairman (6 years) for another and spent home time taking care of that. My mom passed away in January so now I'll be home more and hopefully get some things finished. Last weekend I pinned 9 quilts (most are baby/lap size) Pinning is the part of quilting I hate to do.

Katyb - I like your idea of having them all in one spot and listing what box they WIPs are in - mine are scattered all over the place - think I will work on that process. Sometimes when I run across a UFO (WIP) I just pull it out and finish it so I don't lose it again. :0)

I have put mine in clear boxes with a sheet of paper saying the names of the ones in that box. Easy to get to when I want to work on one. Trouble is I keep starting more.

This post got me thinking, so I decided I would keep track on my blog. Wow...my UFOs aren't as much as I thought...however I'm counting UFOs as needing to finish the quilt top. I have a pile of needing to quilt that I'm keeping as a separate column. That's where I have my stumbling block. I think it's the purchasing of all that fabric for the backing that stops me.

Upon further review, I'm taking this message board as a license to accumulate as many UFOs as I possibly can!

I refuse to count them so I don't get depressed. I just ordered more fabric so the UFOs just keep growing.

I counted mine at the beginning of the year and there were 32. I wrote a blog post about them

http://annes-threads.blogspot.co.uk/...-and-usos.html

Some probably don't technically count as UFOs because they're not started - but they're all projects still hanging over me! Since then I've almost finished 2 of them and made progress on a couple of others.
