I went to RtoC on Saturday, and had a great time! The quilts were, as usual, somewhat intimating, but overall gorgeous and very inspiring. Interestingly most of the winning quilts had swarovsky crystals glued on them....not my taste, but, you know, whatever! My favorites were pieced and either hand or machine quilted without embellishment. Those I think show true quilting talent. There were actually lots of those in the show, and they were eye-popping beautiful!!! Something I could actually aspire to, although many years from now.
My guild had our opportunity quilt there selling raffle tickets, so we had to provide 20 hours of white glove time, and I signed up for 2 hours...had a ton of fun doing it, but should have signed up earlier in the day, because I was about exhausted when I was finished 4:15-6:00. :-( Had a wonderful section to take care of, and got really familiar with some of the more interesting and popular quilts. It was a great experience, and I would certainly do it again.  :-)
