Have fun, and try to take photos to post of some of the quilts. We all love the slideshows!
You should drive down here sometime and go to the show. My friends and I usually go for two days, getting a hotel room for Friday night. We have a blast. None of us went this year cause 2 of us are not physically up to all the walking around and a couple of the others are having some financial struggles. I hope to get a group together for the International show in Long Beach in July.

We spent 3 days at the Road2Ca, we had such a good time. My friend bought a Hinterberg frame that she can use for her Viking or a Mid arm, it was really reasonable. I went to Jean Browns Metal to Metal hand quilting class, she is a great instructor, although it is going to take me some practice with the Aunt Becky to get down the technique, but my finger under the quilt will love it, LOL. The quilts were gorgeous.

I went to the show on Friday and it was so good. The quilts this year were so awesome. I am also fortunate enought to the guild that is asked to pack out the quilts every year and I did that again this year also. We get a first hand, up close, white glove, touchy feely day of packing them up for shipping. It is so wonderful to see them up close and personal. I have been going to Road for many years and I think this was the best year yet. Hope you liked it.

I enjoyed my visit to the show -- some of the quilts are just so gorgeous. I do wish, though, that there were more examples of traditional block quilts -- there were a lot of art quilts, and a lot of applique stuff, but very few block quilts. Guess that's just too ho-hum or something, I dunno.

I refrained from buying anything, although there was a lot of neat stuff. Some of it was just way too overpriced, but I would imagine that if you live somewhere without access to a LQS, then it would be like heaven.

Southern Arizona is also beautiful in January. This coming weekend is Tucson's quilt show. Looking forward to it and all the beautiful quilts and vendors galore.

I used to live in Oro Valley and learned how to quilt there in 1994 at I think the name of the shop was Precious Hands or something like that. I do not think the shop is there any more. I miss seeing the Tucson show, it is always a good one. Enjoy!!
