I dislike stripes as well. Never buy any for my quilts,
don't even like plaids. I bought a couple striped fabrics to use on the bias for binding on crib quilts and can't seem to use the rest of the fabric. Still sitting in my stash. LOL

I teach a beginning Quilters course at my local Adult Education program. First rule of fabric is NO STRIPES. If someone wants to tackle them later fine, but not for beginners.

I only use stripes when they are part of the design for the quilt. This one went in my teen daughter's room. She picked the rainbow stripe and I re-cut it to form diamonds. The quilt evolved as I made it. So don't ask for the pattern, there isn't one. It is a one-of-a-kind as I doubt I'll never make another like it.

I am making a quilt called Ribbon. I am using a strip to set off each block. Without the stripe, the pattern would look just like any ole' quilt block. I am an amature in quilting but I do like stripes. (spelling also)
