Default I have finally tried Mary Ellen's Best Press - Love it!

I have been a sewer/quilter for years and have almost always used Magic Sizing, which I like well enough, but it does leave white flakes if not absorbed into the fabric. After starting to follow quilting blogs and forums on the internet for the last 3 years or so, I started noticing conversations about Best Press. I would visit my local quilt shops from time to time and see it there but the price of the Best Press compared to the Magic Sizing always stopped me from purchasing it.

Well, I finally broke down and bought a bottle since it was on sale with a small discount at one of the shops, and gave it the ultimate test in my opinion. I have sons who like wearing the color black when it comes to dress clothes, and one son who has to get dressed up on the day of his high school basketball games. I used the Best Press on a black shirt and black dress pants. Not only did it take the wrinkles out with ease, there was not one bit of flaking!!! I was worried about the scent being overbearing, but it dissipated rather quickly as well, so he did not go to school smelling like a citrus grove, but it was pleasant enough while using the spray.

I loved it so much, that I went on Joann's web site and purchased a gallon this morning at half price and 12 cent shipping that they are having today only, December 12. I am definitely a convert and am happy that I splurged and bought this product.

I have used it and it was very nice. I still use my old stand by most of the time, spray starch because it seems to statablize the fabric so well. Probably just my old school ways LOL

I just found the Best Press too, and it is wonderful. Perfumes give me headaches, so I use the unscented. It really is a great product.

I found some unscented in one shop. I think it is great, too. I really like some of the scents as they tend to be mild. I had used it on several fabrics for a quilt, and put them in a plastic tote. When I opened it, there was such a clean fresh smell to it. Glad you found it.

I usually buy my Best Press at Hancock Fabrics or Joann's with a coupon. I also dilute it some, usually 60% Best Press to 40% water and achieve the same results as full strength.

I too love Best Press but hate the price I have moved on to cheap Vodka, water and a bit of Frebreeze for a light scent. Ratio is one cup vodka to one cup of water and a splash of Frebreeze.

I guess I'm the odd woman out. I don't care for it.

It is all that I use even though the price is a little high (I get spray starch for $1 at the Dollar Store) As you said it gets all of the wrinkles out easily and I love the texture of the fabric once it is ironed.

Best Press is a great product. Once I changed to it, I knew there was no going back to regular spray starches. I use the unscented, also. It ones with the scents drive my husbands sinuses crazy. He nearly had to move out of the house.
Thanks AuntPiggylpn for the tip on diluting it with water. I'm going to try that. Sure would save me some money.
    Happy Spritzing Sewers!!!

The first thing many say about it is, it is expensive and turn away never trying it. I don't see why so many get all puckered up over the price. I mean it isn't a car payment for goodness sake.
