I have a zillion quilts floating around in my brain I am sure - having said that I only work on one top at a time and limit my toppers to 5 before I FMQ them. I do have a paper piecing project that is on going but other than that I know for myself that I would never finish anything if I just kept starting projects. Now fabric is another story, I buy for future projects as I see things I like

I have lots of quilts I want to make. Usually when it is time to start another I pick a new one out. I gues I'm weird, I finish one before starting another.

OMG I've got so many. I blame this site. Prior to coming here, I had made only a handful of horrible things. QB is a baaaaad(yet good) influence.
Fork it though right? If I get an idea, I pull the fabric, start playing and stuff it all in a bag when I get bored. I'll eventually get back to it. I love having all of my projects. They suit my many moods.

Oh, the joy of starting a new project!!! and starting another ....and another ..... ANd the delight when the last stitch is in and it's ready to give to someone I love. there is no rule as far as I know that you can only work on one project at a time. I would NOT want to count how many UFOs there are hiding in my sewing room. Several years ago a Dear Niece took the liberty of helping me clean out my sewing room as I supposedly would not be sewing anymore.. My disturbed mind rails at the UFOs she relieved me of. I still try to be nice about her help but NOBODY sorts through my sewing room anymore.... so much for working on one project. I love the freedom of doing what I want with it all.

I do this in every aspect of my life. I use to call it multitasking. Now I call it insane. I keep reading multitasking is not the way to go. This summer I have plans to change my approach to figure out another more productive method to organizing, completing a project, slowing down, etc. I wonder how this will work?

One solution: Get a flash drive and save all your favorite patterns on it
