You did great, I saw one online for $1600. It had been refinished and that takes away from the value, I would suggest to you, to do nothing to the original finish. Very few of these, made by Singer, were made. You have a valuable piece to protect and enjoy!

But I got up at 5am yesterday and sat in my car wrapped up in a wool blanket to be number 1. And I got it!! They sold it as a set so now I have 2 FWs. That's okay because I really love my first FW. I just love estate sales... when I get what I want.

The FW sets in the space made for it when you want to sew and when you want to put it away, there is a shelf below that stores the machine and foot pedal. The top has wood pieces that 'fit' into the FW opening and it is supposed to look like a side table when it's closed up. The top has some water damage but that's okay. I have old doilies that will cover that up. I'm so excited ..... had to share my good fortune.

I am very excited for you. Congratulations. I have never seen a cabinet like that. It's just so cute. Was it made just the FW machines?

I was bidding on the cabinet on Ebay, but stopped @$400 (more than my budget really). You got this cabinet for a STEAL!!! I'm sew envious because I know I'll NEVER be able to afford one & I don't know anyone that does any kind of woodworking that could make one for me @ a reasonable price. Thanks for letting me look @ your pic and DROOL over it!!!
