First glance at the picture and the background of the area where the squares are laid would be my choice, it seems to be a light blue/gray and the picture reminded me of soft music. Whatever that background is would not make a statement, or detract from the squares, it would compliment them.

I think I would pick up a rose color from the dark flower. Its beautiful but you need something to make it pop. Just my opinion

Your blocks are very pretty. Lay the blocks on several different fabrics and see which one strikes your fancy,

If you want to keep it all pastel, I'd choose a brighter pastel of any of the colors in the blocks (blue?) ... but if you choose a dark sashing it will change the look completely. To match the room, choose a cobalt-ish blue and that might look great! Definitely audition.

The suggestion of the blue polka dot strikes me as a very good possibility if you want to keep the pastel theme going. The dark burgandy of the flowers would be a good choice, otherwise.

I'd pick one of the colors in the larger flowers. You have a lot of blue already so I don't think I'd go with that.

my thought is also, the blue with the dots. I love dots, and sounds like you like blue. Beautiful blocks. I love doing string piecing.......I save all my scraps and made those blocks. One day I will put it together.....just have fun while you are making it. It's the journey.......

I would not use any fabric that is in the squares. I would use darker blue if your room is painted blue. The contrast would make the squares pop.
