It's the creamy large print that is discordant to me. Maybe another blue? Your color combination is very pretty and it's not too busy, IMO.

I was thinking of making a 4 block by 4 block baby girl quilt. Thanks!

It's lovely and would make for a nice baby quilt.

The only change I would make would be not to have those two dark ones side by side, or perhaps even eliminate them. Yes, perhaps more contrast as others have pointed out would be better, as they and similar fabrics could create. Though perhaps you like the subtlety that less contrast gives? I think this could work out quite lovely!

A note to all ... sometimes we have to remember that traditional fabric placements is not necessarily the way to go. Especially if one likes it.

I think it is fine but it would also look wonderful tea or coffee dyed.

I love the block, but I agree that it would look nicer in more contrasting colors.

The busyness is okay, but you need more contrast. See how the darker blue & pink stand out? you need two like that opposite each other & it will be fine.
just my thoughts. it is 'heavy' in the bottom left corner

I like it, but I am partial to florals of all kinds. It might be easier to pick out the pattern if you do it all in the pink blue alternating like the lower left, just a thought.

The fabrics are definitely taking away from the pattern. You need to use fabrics next to each other that are different values. The florals are pretty but perhaps put a solid or blender type pastel in every other position. The small flower pattern on light background, next to small flower pattern on light background just doesn't work in any quilting pattern. Make sense?

I agree with quiltmouse...contrast is the key. Looks like a fun block. Show more photos as you go please.
