This is the first square I've done with my featherweight. It's a paperpieced square, and I'm using florals from my stash. It's just a sample, so would appreciate helpful criticism. I'm wondering if it's too busy, and also if some of the florals are too large. What about the colours together? Any input would be helpful. I was thinking of making a 4 block by 4 block baby girl quilt. Thanks!

You've done a lovely job! & I like all the fabrics.

The busyness is okay, but you need more contrast. See how the darker blue & pink stand out? you need two like that opposite each other & it will be fine.

I agree - your quilt block is very nice as far as the piecing but a little more contrast between the fabrics would help it stand out a little better. Your fabrics are nice.

Thanks,
Sherryl

I do like it but I agree with dorrell ann. Maybe something that reads a little more solid in some of the pcs. I really like that pattern and I love florals. Your piecing is great! I think this quilt will be awesome.

I like all your fabrics but not all together lol
I would go with fewer florals, more contrast as someone else said, maybe also a big floral with a small one, but just not as many as you have.
Great job on your new Centennial!! hee hee I remember :D

I like it! Take it and put it on the wall and then stand way back. That always help me judge. I tend to go back and forth between wanting the fabrics to blend and having definate value changes. How do you really feel about it?

Yes, too busy to clearly see the pattern but I like that style. Kind of shabby chic. So either leave it or if you want to see the Winning Hand pattern put in more contrast. Maybe solids for the lights?
