On a small project, I've used the 505 spray with good results. On larger things, for machine quilting, I use quilting (bent) safety pins and a large-toothed grapefruit spoon to help close the pins. For hand quilting, I prefer the softness and flexibility of hand basting.

My mom showed me to use spray baste for my very first quilt. I open the windows and run the fan on the stove. Or take it outside for small things. The long cold winters are my main problem. LOL I plan to get a bunch of things sandwiched before it gets cold.
