Sometimes, it takes the village.....to fix a problem. I sometimes experience the 'fog' problem late in the day.
And, it takes a good night's rest and fresh perspective to find the remedy. Glad you got the help you needed and are back on track because that quilt will be beautiful.

Now to make things run smoothly for the rest of the blocks--lay this one near by and then lay out a block to sew and match each section until you get the hang of it.
It is going to be a great quilt and please show us the top.

Hooray! Your finished block came out great. Does the pattern give dimensions for the unfinished block sizes? And did your block measure up? My only concern about having to trim down units is that you may have a block that measured smaller than the pattern and when you go to put all those blocks together you may run into issues. I strongly suspect that if the pattern in the magazine asked you to enlarge the pattern piece on a copier, that is what caused your PP unit to come out slightly larger than it should have.

just happened on this thread. I've always loved fall leaves, even though we don't
get the bright colors here in Florida.
The quilt in the book is gorgeous! This was a happy ending story and I can't
wait to see more .
