Do it wonky with the pink. It will make people wonder what you're thinking! :-)

Love your designs, I do a lot of tote bags and these designs would go good on them.

I sent you a couple of private messages. Email me, gave you that in the message. I can send you pictures of some of the things I have embroidered on bags.

I like the wonky. You could also add straight pink sashing between the blocks too, which would really emphasize the black wonky frame.

Your patterns are beautiful! If you want it modern, jeans and suit coat are great together. Haven't you seen women in jeans with fancy high heels on their feet? Keep up the wonderful work.

i have, but am not sure what message it is sending. I don't think it is very formal. I mean, I can't really envision people at the oscars with tight blue jeans (or black) with shimmering heels. (Or maybe they are there...I actually don't watch the oscars...

Off-kilter does not define 'modern'. Your embroidered blocks do not carry enough visual weight to be set on a slant and remain effective, no matter what their color. They are much more effective straight up and down, though you could add interest by putting them in a less balanced (rigid?) arrangement than your 2-3-2-3-2 pattern. Also, odd numbers of things are more pleasing to the eye than even. If you go with colored blocks, consider using one or three, not two.

As a person who frequently wears a formal jacket with jeans.....or leggings under a business skirt with DM's. I like wonky with a flash of colour....Madquilters idea of straight coloured sashing amongst the wonky also would look fantastic. Anyway whatever you decide will be good. The blocks themselves are stunning, so I think they would "shine" no matter what.
