Don't let stupid quilt police discourage you from showing your work to people. Most of my friends, quilters or not, always love show and tell. I know I do.

For whatever reason a person posts their good and bad outcomes, I have learned from them. I try to do my best, but am far from perfect. When something turns out the way I planned, it's often that I have gotten hints from this board on their mistakes and how they corrected them. If something can't be fixed in five minutes, it goes in my sewing basket to rip out in the evening watching/listening to TV. That way, I have more time to sew during the day hours.
Keep posting; it may help a new quilter avoid mistakes; or an old quilter like me. Just enjoy.

I guess I'm out of the loop on this one. we CAN'T complain or whine or vent our frustrations with quilting! Isn't this a quilting board? a communication place for quilters?
But we can BRAG til cows come home!?
seems very lopsided to me. there are frustrations with any craft. Patterns aren't always written to be easily understood, machines mess up, needles break when not expected to, fabric frays or doesn't play nicely with others, then WE are in a world of a rat race expected to get things done fast but perfect.
Well, I think if someone states a problem they are facing, and are frustrated because it is staring them in the face yet they don't fully see it, we have the duty to help our fellow quilters out. They likely didn't post for any other reason.
my thought..........bring them on. that is why we all are here.... to be a guild of like minded crafters.

Sometimes we just need the connection to like minded folk who've experienced some of the same difficulties. For me it may be that I feel like I SHOULD know the answer but the ole brain is somewhere out there in la-la land and nothing is coming together like I want it to. And the best part is that I usually get some ideas I might never ever have thought of on my own. I may not use them on the current project, but most likely they will come in handy somewhere along the way.
