I am really excited and just had to share!

I am looking forward to seeing all the lovely masterpieces, perusing the vendors and hopefully leaving inspired to continue to learn this marvelous craft.

My four daughters are also coming with me, and I hope they can help me keep my wallet locked up good and tight :)

So, what was your first quilt show like?

My neighbor taught me to quilt about 10 years ago. That lesson included the Lancaster Quilt show in Lancaster, PA. I had the best day!! There were so many people, but it didn't matter. When you were waiting in line at a booth to pay, women would ask what you were buying and what you were going to do with it!! I had some of the best conversations in line! I would suggest buying things you don't normally see in your quilt shop or Joanns. I always go to the "thimble guy", the stencil shop, thread shop, and the book and pattern booth. I remember one woman commented to me when I was contemplating a purchase...Get it now, you may never see it again and you will regret it!! That theory is not always good for the pocketbook, but it has worked well for me. Then when you get home it is so fun to go through all of your fun purchases!

I have 3 daughters!! Love those Girls!! Have the best day with your girls! Let us know how it goes and post pictures of your purchases!!

That's the one I am going to :)

If you do end up going on Friday and you should happen to see a starry-eyed newbie walking around with four daughters in tow, that would be me.... walk up to me and say hi!

My very first quilt show was in Paducah many years ago and it was HORRIFYING! There were about 10 ladies from the 'elderly' ladies Sunday school class at my church and I said I would take them. For some it was their only opportunity. One of the ladies was about 4' tall and real petite and I was scared the whole time I was going to loose her or one of the others. They were all about 70 years old and over. They had a great time but I was scared to death.

My first quilt show after getting into quilting was the beginning of a new career!

My DH and I checked out all the long arms and picked the one we wanted to buy!

I was a good girl and didn't spend much --- not that day.

But it has turned into our long arm business :
Quilter's Pantry!

Have fun!
