It looks like it was faced not bound. Facing a quilt is when you sew strips to the sides and all the strip or facing is folded to the back and hand stitched. You should be able to find a YouTube tutorial on facing a quilt.

that tutorial is great but the quilt does look like it's borders to the edge. folding over and stitching to the back may be the only way to go. Good luck!

I would have thought it was too much bulk at the corner, but this you-tube has a unique approach.

To do a facing and have it look like the photo, you would have to put the facing on before the quilting was done.

Thanks to all the answered and gave links or suggestions. The good news is that it can be done, whoo hoo! I was directed to an artist quilter, Jennifer Rapacki YouTube channel, she gives credit to Quilting Gems who gave her permission to make a YouTube tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTtvUmi_Wr0&t=2sThe wall hanging is ready now for me to hand stitch the binding to the back, the binding looks so good and for me, having the mitred two color binding match the mitered borders I'm very pleased. Again this is the best forum, for without all your suggestions I might not have stumbled onto Jennifer's YouTube channel.

yes, I think you do it like a mitered border--where you sew it to the edge and then miter the 2 "border/bindings". neat quilt!

Hi Onebyone, Wow, I never in a million years thought of Photoshop in selling patterns! LOL It's as though I just learned there isn't 'real' Easter Bunny!

This is how I do my flange binding but I've never seen anyone take the two strips apart at the end before joining the ends before.

Love this pattern (sign, another for my list!) and all the links on the binding techniques. Thank you all!
