Alcohol is good. Also peanut butter rubbed on it . I hope you find a way to take it off.

I would put the letter (right way) on another piece of fabric and applique that over the gooey spot. I doubt that it will come out. Let's say I have never been successful.

Be careful with acetone as it may remove color. Try it on a scrap fabric first. It will take the glue off.

When I did this, I just cross stitched a little label...to and from and attached it. Get requests for that now so I add them if it's a gift for a particular person.

Eucalyptus oil should remove it but try on a scrap first. I use it to take stains out of carpets.
