Tell him it is what Erma Bombeck use
to say about clothes hangers.
"Put 2 in an empty closet and a week later they
fall out everywhere" (Multiply like rabbits).
Same with sewing machines (THEY MULTIPLY, TOO).

You people are funny.
He already doesn't know about the Janome Hello Kitty I bought a month ago. I buy 2nd hand luggage the size of my machines, so each machine is in a nice looking, suitcase. Hello Kitty is in a nice red cosmetic case on wheels, Ken[more] is in an LL Bean one, Athena is on my kitchen table, with her army colored canvas bag sitting next to her, Domestic Rotory is going into a table this weekend, Singer Red eye [I thought it was a red head] is in a table, and this would be the 3rd one in a table, which is kinda too many.
When I got the domestic Rotory, he told me to get rid of some, so I tested them all, and gave away 3. Don't worry, they weren't classics or anything. less than 20 years old, and kinda junky that someone gave me, and I had planned on giving them away, anyway.
So he was pretty happy that I got one and gave away 3. Now I have since got 2 more, and one of them is in a table!
butcha know, that red eyed girl's table is open! if I close that, there is be an extra 19" or so, and then I only need another 18" more . . . .

Got a birthday or anniversary coming up soon? Tell your hubby that you have picked up your present from him. My husband loved when I did this sinc ehe hated to shop. Tell him how much money you haved him by getting it early. Good luck, take care.

I love these posts!!! Have your tried treadling them both? Which one treadles the best? Which one sews the best? Which one to you love the most? I'd say DH will get over it quicker if you are up front. I know my DH is cool when I bring one home but then once in a while he will make little comments so I know he would like to see some of them in use or gone. He for sure doesn't like to have them in HIS space. He also knows they are a pretty good investment both for the money and for the grand daughter's future. You just can't buy new ones like those.

Since I surmise that you don't smoke, drink or hang out in bars, tell him it is from the savings of being a good soul and not having those dastardly habits! Loved you story and you should be writing books along with your quilting and shopping talents!'

Which machine would you keep?
Domestic or Singer?[/quote]
Hold the phone, Sister! think about this!
Kids?
Sisters?
best buds?
church group?
class group?
If all else fails, how about a bit of a fib that you are keeping it for your friend. "you" and "yourself" are friends.
